Uncommon Trans-Mississippi Confederate $100 Bond - Endorsed Opelousas, Louisiana Depositary |

Here is a Nice Confederate $100 Bond with All Ten of it's
Coupons Intact ! Endorsed in Opelousas, Louisiana, by
Alphonse Desmore, and signed vertically on the face. Bond
measures 16.5 inches tall by 14 inches wide. It had a hard life,
with about a dozen small holes present, that have been sealed
from the reverse with acid free japanese tissue paper. Bond
was then de-acidified, and sealed in an acid free sleeve.
[Easily removed if desired] Vignette shows a Confederate
Officer with Saber leaning against a tree. Issued by the Act of
February 20th, 1863, these Trans-Mississippi examples were
actually issued in February, 1864. An uncommon Trans-
Mississippi Confederate Bond !

Here's a Fine 1863, Confederate Cotton Bond w/Coupons!
It's a thousand dollar denomination, with 19 of its original 20 coupons
remaining. Black print on white paper that's in fine condition with no
tears rips, or holes. Bond is 17 inches long by 14 inches wide, has
been de-acidified, and sealed in an acid free sleeve. [Could be opened
if desired] Pictured on the vignette is Virginian James A. Seddon,
Confederate Secretary of War. Seal of the Confederate Treasury
Department embossed right side. Text sounds like bond may have
been intended for sale to Great Britian among others, as it reads;
" ... to be paid at the pleasure of the government in specie,
or in cotton of the quality of New Orleans Middling, valued
at six pence sterling per pound..." I can just see Mr. Caleb
Huse, buying British Enfields with financial instruments of this

Very Nice De-acidified Original Confederate Bond Deposit Form - Ready To Frame |

Here is a Fine Condition Confederate States of America,
Deposit Form ! It's a Very Neat Document Showing the receipt
of $10,000 worth of Confederate Bonds, by 5 Trustees in Great
Britian. Front gives instructions, and names the Trustees, and signed
in hand it says, "L. Davis for Holland Balfour & Co.", with
address of Cushion Court, dated 14 Oct. 1866. Form measures
13.25 inches tall by 8.25 inches wide. Reverse has the Conditions
of Deposit in detail. At the end of the war, many British investors,
still holding Confederate Paper, thought they might be able to get
their claims paid by the United States. Not sure how that worked
out, but this is a document from those attempts.Very Good
condition with just a couple of pinholes. Paper has been de-
acidified, and then sealed in an acid free sleeve.

Nice $1,000 Confederate Bond w/Confederate Seal Vignette - Issued at Houston, Texas, Depositary |

Here is a Very Nice $1,000 Confederate Bond Issued at
the Houston, Texas, Depositary ! It still retains 58 of it's
original 60 interest coupons, and is a large document at 26.25
inches tall by 17 inches wide. Black print on an orange color
paper, with the Confederate Seal centered at the top. Like the
others, this bond has been de-acidified, and then sealed in an
acid free sleeve. Signed on the back in period ink, " Issued
Houston, Tex. Dec. 1st, 1864 James Sorley Depositary."
