Original M1816 Springfield Lockplate Dated 1839
Original M1816 Springfield Lockplate Dated 1839

Here is a Nice Relic Condition M1816 Springfield Lock
Plate !  In hand you can still easily see "Springfield" and date
"1839", at the rear of the plate, but the U.S. and Eagle forward
of the hammer area have worn away. No hardware just the plate
itself, but it could be cleaned up a bit and used.

Dug Receiver and Full Length Barrel of an 1885 Hopkins & Allen "Falling Block" 12 Guage Shotgun
Dug Receiver and Full Length Barrel of an 1885 Hopkins & Allen "Falling Block" 12 Guage Shotgun

Here is a Nice Dug Barrel/Breech Assembly for an 1885 Hopkins & Allen 12 Gauge Shotgun !  Well, I know it’s Not Civil War, but it IS still a pretty cool Dug Firearm basically dating to the Indian Wars. I got it in with a collection of Dug Rifle barrels, mostly Civil War, and couldn’t figure out what kind of “carbine” it was !?  Finally, realized that despite the large bore, it was not a Civil War carbine, but the H & A Shotgun. This pattern had a “falling block” mechanism, which explains why it so resembled a Civil War Era carbine at first. Anyway, it will look great mounted, even better on an old barn board, and be a good representation of Frontier Era Firearms !
