Original .58 Caliber Blank Paper Cartridge For Musket |
| Here is a Very Uncommon Original Blank Cartridge for .58 caliber musket ! You'll see several cartridge boxes full of original paper Minie Cartridges, before you see another of these blanks. Yet, according to Dean S. Thomas, in Round Ball To Rimfire, Vol.I, p. 157, "Over 18 million musket or rifle blanks were manufactured at the Federal ordnance facilities during the war, with over 10 million of that number assembled at the Washington Arsenal alone." This example is not regulation, but similiar to the non-regulation example in Thomas book, Specimen #226, and like that example tied closed with thread. I guess the reason they are so rarely encountered today, is that most were consumed in training camps, or discarded once regular ammunition was distributed. Very uncommon Original Civil War Period Blank Paper Cartridge for Musket ! $95 plus shipping

.32 Caliber Rimfire Long Cartriges |
| Here is a Pair of .32 Long Rimfire Cartridges for Display with Your S & W Old Army or other Civil War Rimfire Revolver ! These are Post-War Cartridges manufactured by UMC, or Union Metallic Cartridge Company, dating from the 1880s-1900. They are almost identical to the Period Smith & Wesson Cartridges in length, case, and bullet type, with the only real clue to their date being the lack of a dish base, and a -U- headstamp on the base. In a display you can't tell the difference, and this pair won't cost you Half the Money one Period Smith & Wesson Cartridge does ! $12 plus shipping

Period examples have a dished base, while these have a flat base, with a -U- headstamp for UMC, the Union Metallic Cartridge Company. Nice 9mm Pinfire Pistol Cartridge |
| Here's a nice non-dug 9mm Pinfire Pistol Cartridge in excellent condition ! Cartridge is tight, retaining a brass look to the case, but with bullet showing a lot of white patina. This one has a -U- headstamp from the Union Metallic Cartridge Co., so it is just slightly post-war, as they were in full operation by 1867. Exact same cartridge as would have been used during the war though, and will make an excellent addition to your cartridge collection, or display great with that revolver ! $15 plus shipping
