Detecting Private Property near the Prairie Grove Battlefield
This was over twenty years ago, and I was just about to locate a little Union Officer's camp area, associated with the Battle of Prairie Grove.  Would be fortunate enough to dig several US Staff cuffs, one coat size, a couple of Wisconsin cuffs, lots of pistol bullets, and a coin or two. But, while I was busy working at it, Scooby and his little Terrier buddy, Bowser, found a skunk and his hole near the road. They proceeded to dig the skunk out and then Scooby bit him on the back . . . . which made the skunk really mad ! I heard the ruckus and rushed over in time to see the skunk ambling off down the field, and Scooby waggin his tail as if to say, . . . " See, I been diggin too," and him and Bowser smelling wonderful ! Even with them riding in the camper at 70 mph on the way home, I could barely stand to take a breath. But, I got two pocketfuls of good relics, and Scoob had a great time, so I guess it was worth it !   SB
