Nice Original Combination Tool for the M1865 & Conversion Spencer Carbines |
| NEW !
Here is a Barely Post Civil War, Combination Tool for the M1865 Spencer Carbine ! According to Shaffer, Rutledge, & Dorsey, in their book, Gun Tools Their History and Identification, the Springfield Armory made these by altering the M1863 Combination Tool, which they had thousands of left over after the war. These were issued with the M1865, and the Conversion Spencer Carbines, in use just after the war. This one is in good condition, still retaining a good portion of its original bluing and opening and closing just like it should. A Neat Combination Tool for the Post War Spencer Carbines ! [ L.L. ]

Beautiful Patina on this Pre-Civil War/Civil War Period Clamshell Powder Flask |
Here is a Fine Looking Pre-Civil War to Civil War Period Clam Shell design Powder Flask ! It sports the prettiest deep, dark coppery brown patina over the entire body that really shows its age ! The main body measures 6.5 inches long, by about 3.5 inches at its widest point, with a 1.25 inch long spout at top. The spout very much resembles that on a “Peace” flask, with a large opening, and four rotating positions, that still function. The powder door spring is still good and operates correctly with the thumb button as well. There are two splits in the main body, one at the bottom about 1.5 inches long, and another on the right side about the same length. Both can be seen in the pictures. I see no maker’s marks anywhere, but this flask is likely intended for rifle or musket. Just a Superb Displaying Old Powder Flask with that Beautiful Patina ! [ L.L. ]
